Green is no longer ‘Elective’

The incredible and powerful shift to responsible building techniques is both powerful and permanent. Building GREEN will continue to become more and more prevalent as both techniques and materials become more accepted and less expensive. It is a trend I think we all recognize as incredibly important.

One of the many green features of this home was a specific orientation in order to take advantage of sunlight to help maximize efficiencies. The buyer, who sought the GREENEST home available, was thrilled with the ‘high-performance’ aspect of the home.

Seeing ‘green’ on display is increasingly common. The marketplace has placed more and more emphasis on sustainability, responsibility and lower energy signatures and home building has followed suit. Additionally, government mandates have increased the required levels of efficiencies in mechanical equipment … yet another positive step in making sure we build far more responsibly than ever.

The bottom line is that people have become more and more willing to invest in more efficient systems, insulation and better air quality with the understanding that payoff for these improvements are less tangible than the built-in cappuccino maker, exotic Brazilian granite or jetted tub.  They are also adopting the view that sustainable building techniques are just more important that anyone initially realized and that lowering energy signatures is important not only to us as individuals, but to our county and the planet.

A good NEW HOMES agent is versed in GREEN building techniques and their impact.  They can also guide to you the builders within the community that build using these important techniques.

The Need for Flexible Neighborhoods

By Rick Jarvis

Pretend someone invented a camera that could take a picture of your life. If you took a picture of your life for 5 years in a row, do you think the images would change a little? Not at all? A whole lot? I think we all know the answer. Our lives change rapidly and constantly. […]
