Goochland County is located north of the River and borders Henrico to the west. The county is generally considered rural with large lot subdivisions and estates as the primary form of its residential development.
Areas that border the James River and the western edge of Henrico are generally considered to be some of the most valuable in the Metro and many notable names and estates exist here. The area is also home to several higher end golf courses/country clubs, including the nationally renown Kinloch Golf Club, Hermitage Country Club and Richmond Country Club are located in eastern Goochland.
Goochland is accessed by Interstate 64 and Route 288 along with Route 250 (Broad Street), Route 6 (Patterson Avenue) and River Road. Areas in the county include Manakin Sabot, Maidens, Crozier and Hadensville.
The MLS System calls all of Goochland Zone 24 so there is no distinction within MLS between eastern and western Goochland. Subdivisions of note include The Meadows at Joe Brook Farm, Kinloch, Bridgewater, Clifton and West Oak.
